Here’s what Tito had to say. ”The silt beds were very difficult and there were a lot of rocks. It was a great course and we were strategic and did it right. It was a fun race. It is amazing to win in our home city. We have been racing for a long time and this is our first Bud Light SCORE Baja 1000 win and it feels great.”
Big Congratulations to Fat customer AARON AMPUDIA, No. 1636. He won first in his class (1/2 1600) this past weekend at the SCORE Baja 1000. Aaron shared driving duties with Alan Ampudia. Aaron remarked, “My brother Alan started the race fourth off the line and gave it to me with a six-minute lead. I had a flat in the fish camp loop and another one in San Felipe but those were the only issues we had. We brought it home with a strong lead and we clinched a championship.”
Congratulations to Jimmy Hook, Andrew Neal and Justin “Bean” Smith for their combined efforts and win at the SNORE/MORE Midnight Special / Chili Cook Off. An intense battle for class 1600 ended with their team on top. ““It went well out there.” said Jimmy Hook. “I started the first lap and brought the car in for the driver change in second place. Then Andrew Neal got in and kept the pace until lap 3 when we lost the fuel pump and got a flat. We got all that fixed and he was able to reel’m back in. Then Justin Smith was able to jump in and run it to the finish and grab that SNORE Championship.”
